Semper WTF

Please tell me this Sci Fi becoming "Syfy" stuff is a joke? Not that I'm surprised, or that we ever watch it*, but, seriously, this has got to be a sign of the end times. Nothing else makes sense. Take this quote:

"We'll get the heritage and the track record of success, and we'll build off of that to build a broader, more open and accessible and relatable and human-friendly brand."

Human-friendly brand? As opposed to the pet-friendly brand? Are geeks not human now?

I bet someone in the marketing department even got a bonus. Sigh.

*Because most of the programming sucks, not because it's "geeky." Sigh, dieux.

  1. HAHAHAHA! It’s even funnier to me because I pitched a campaign in their first round of branding (first season). I lost, obviously, and am forever grateful that I did. Even then they were hell bent on this ridiculous notion that they had to appeal to ‘normal’ people rather than ‘just’ geeks (whoever the hell they are). Morons. I mean, you know me. There’s no way I would have been able to keep quiet about how stupid this ‘strategy’ is. hmmm, maybe that’s why I didn’t win the pitch? heh.
    What this really means is that we can look forward to even more inane ads (if that’s possible) for this ‘network’. *eyeroll*
