Hannah Wolf Bowen appreciates Kij Johnson’s "At the Mouth of the River of Bees" over at The ED SF Project — a story that has been much on my mind the past few days and which has never failed to make me cry. It’s a beautiful story and Hannah’s appreciation does it justice.

Writing that thing gave me hives, but I’m pretty happy with how it ended up.
Glad to be useful.
I haven’t been able to actually reread it yet, but that one line you quote in your appreciation has been coming back to me all evening: Live forever.
If only they did. But the thing I love about that story is that in a way, they do, and that story gets how.
