p.s.

I figured out why the whole NaNo debate is bugging me so much, when I don’t really have a dog in this fight. I don’t like it when writers beat up on other writers — especially on the process of other writers. To each their own.

And yes, this discussion does seem increasingly like a procrastination tool for all involved. So I’m outtie. I have a book to finish and I haven’t added any words since November 6 (although I have opened the file every day since then). Good tippity-typing, all.

  1. Yeah, I hear you. It’s not something I’d want to do, but the only thing that really bugs me about the way people talk about writing is when they make blanket statements about what everyone Should or Should Not do. Do it if you want and if it works for you. If it doesn’t and you don’t, do something else.

  2. Amen, Gwenda. I do, of course, have a dog in this fight, and I must say the whole nano-hayter thing has been depressing me slightly. Please, negative guys, don’t stomp on all the sweet people and their lovely amateur hearts having some harmless fun. It’s all good.
And happy typing to you, too!

  3. I’m with you. I really don’t get the whole let’s not encourage people to write there’s already too much bad writing in the world schtick. I mean sure there is, but so what? The only people you’ll wind up discouraging are the tender easily discouraged souls some of whom are AWESOME writers.
