Things That Suck, No. 1,003 (update)

Having your car broken into, your stereo stolen and your dashboard broken in half in 17 degree weather. While it’s at the garage.

Sigh.

Update: Driving the 2006 Dodge Magnum makes it suck less. SWEET!

  1. Yep. It’s not even driveable. And now someone’s telling me that it should really be the insurance of the garage that pays for this and not mine — but of course they’re not insured for this kind of thing. Grrrr.

  2. Thanks, Kim. My insurance company’s being awesome, actually — it pays to be covered by hometown people who know your parents(!) and have to face them if they screw you over. They’re arranging for a rental right now. But they’re also wrangling with the garage; fingers crossed that the garage has to pony up. I am quell unimpressed with them so far. (Did I mention they couldn’t even fix what was wrong in the first place?)

  3. Oh, Gwenda, that’s terrible! I’ve had that happen once, and it’s so shocking. (And the stereo they stole wasn’t even a good one. Idiots.)
I’m impressed with your insurance agency… here’s hoping they are able to wrangle something out of the garage and get your car fixed immediately.

  4. Man, that sucks. Hope you get a good comfy rental with great heating, so you can at least luxuriate in a smooth ride that has everything working right while arranging to have your own car taken care of.

  5. Glad to hear you’ve got a good company behind you. They’ll take care of you, and go after the garage later, esp. if it’s the company I’m thinking of.
